We experienced a wonderful little town, Bolzano/Bolzen.
(HISTORY LESSON) Bolzano is the biggest city in South Tyrol, which is a self governed province in Northern Italy with a special statute. This statute preserves the rights of the native German-speaking minority in Italy. This unique system has been admired by the Dalai Lama, who visited the city on several occasions to study a possible application in Chinese-occupied Tibet. It has also been presented as role model for the successful and fair resolution of inter-ethnic conflict to other regions of the world.
The Tyrol is a geographic region in Europe's Alps and Dolomites Mountains. Part of the Tyrol is in Austria and part is in Italy.
We enjoyed the typical Italian small village feel of narrow streets with shops and restaurants, rich in German heritage. We had a great meal in a Tyrolean Restaurant, recommended from Rick Steve's book.
My meal was "Goulash" and polenta, which was four good size pieces of meat and a brown sauce.Kurt had sliced meat, red kraut and potatos, along with a basket of scrumptious rye bread.
The Church took me to tears.Kurt told me"If this is making you emotional, wait until we get to the Vatican".oh dear,I better be sure to take a hanky!
We did a bit of shopping and I found some pretty blue nail polish and a cute black long cotten vest to add to my wardrobe.
Before departing we shopped at the farmers market to pick up veggies for the week....

I am enjoying your photos immensely. I love the blonde rabbit and of course, the church. Kurt is right, the Vatican will bring you to your spiritual height!! Soak in the Holy Spirit sister. This is what I pray: safety and spiritual encounters of the heavenly kind!!
